Cain&Mommy day!

OK, so I totally know you're thinking 'Isn't that everyday?' Well, yes...but I guess today felt EXTRA special since we are well and rested and the weather is perfect! Daddy left early to work for a little so we hit the big city in full force! Tallahassee Museum of Natural Science it was!  They have a great walking trail and you can actually get an up close encounter with most of Florida's species.  It's always exciting to go because usually we miss a few animals and some are just LAZY (can't say I don't have those days too).  Here is what we saw on our trip...
don't judge..apparently, I need to work on my camera settings
                                                                          Bald Eagle
                                                                            Wolf
                                                              Sleepy Black Bear
                                                                       Sheep
                                                                  Walking trail
                                                                    Florida Panther

                                                               FUN playground at the end

We also found a 'new' thrift store...full of JUNK!!  Literally! I'll stick to what I know for now :)
JoANN Farics, Cain actually didn't mind...he hates those places!
Came home and nap time= run for me then bath time.  Here's one of my favorite bath concoctions..

Thanks to Angela and Melissa at MOPS

                                                                            ahhhhh!

One more thing...I thought I would share with you my Valentine mantle.

I made everything, with the exception of the green frame
                                                                                garland
Have I mentioned; I love yarn??  I do!

Thanks for reading sweet friends, that's all for now!

sunshine and sickness

WOW!!  What a crazy week!  Cain had a fever the highest it's EVER been.  Being a SAHM, you think you're free from all the germs that get passed around..uhh, WRONG! I swear he picked it up at the gym, and I promised him that I will find that mommy who brought their sick babe.  (hehe)  For real people, if you or your little is sick..please stay home.  I am super bumming because I've been house bound all week thinking I'd be in the clear tomorrow for my fitness/sanity...but NO, Clint's sick and I'm sick!!  blah blah..I'm done :)
Side Note: Cain now says 'Bess You' every time we sneeze.  So precious!
Even though he has been sick and has had NO appetite, he still manages to want candy!  Here you go...

SO this is where being 'home-bound' worked to my advantage...(yes, pinterest got me off the couch..thank goodness!)
I'm really excited about Valentines Day!!  One of my favorites!  Not because I'm looking forward to gifts...but I LOVE PINK! I have a lot of special things planned for my husband of course and my precious friends! I also decorated my mantle for NOTHING! Take that HOBBY LOBBY!!  You get no money from me this week!  (stay tuned!)

So...even though this week has been 'YUCK'..I still found a way to make the best of it!!

On another note...if you haven't heard about a local (Tallahassee) Mom by the name of Erin, she is in need of some serious prayers!!  For those of you that knew or followed Misty, Erin, like Misty is having the battle of her life.  Her story is so similar it brings chills to think that God is using another young mom to remind us that not only how short and precious our lives are, but having FAITH through sickness and especially health is most important.  God has a plan for each one of us.  We may not always agree with his timing or his way..but we know he loves us more than we could ever fathom.  Erin's blog can be seen here: God & Me vs. Breast Cancer

Wishing you all a great weekend and remember to count your blessings!
xxoo

Oh hey...if you haven't read 'The Help' yet, its fabulous!!

What a MAN

So...Most of you know, Clint's Grandpa passed away Saturday morning.  Out of the blue!!  That's right, 88 years old and we didn't think he was going anywhere for a while!!  At 88, he still drove, he cycled @ 3 miles a day, has a facebook, emails, is a great grandfather and would have a beer every now and then. Considering he never made it past the 8th grade; he was an inventor, a veteran of WWII, a Christian, a member of the original 'Hells Angels' and a great Family man.

Four Generations of Friesen Boys... (4 generations of bikers??) :) October trip.

His visit in October was very special to all of us. He was with it!! He was cleared by the doctor to fly from Washington state to our home (Destin) for two weeks!!  Keep in mind, he's had multiple knee replacements among other health issues but overall healthy! He ONLY used his walker going to and from the doctor so he wouldn't get haggled. haha!
I will never forget Grandpa Dan.  He always said 'I love you'.  He always sent Birthday, Anniversary, Christmas, Easter, etc cards ON TIME.  He was always on the move "I cant sit too long".  His Faith was very important to him.  I think we all have learned how special he was to us even though he was so far away!!  May you Rest in Peace and watch over us till the day we meet again....

New Year, Fresh Start?

Hey Everyone!

So...I realize it's not January 1st, but we're still 'in' January and I am starting MY blog!  This is mainly a way for me to give family and friends updates on The Friesens sooner than later!  My main focuses are MY Faith, MY Family, Health, and Happiness!  I plan to share all of these with you soon!
With that said, 'New Year, Fresh Start'...I encourage you all to take 2012 as a new start to the rest of your life!!  Make the changes you have been talking about!!
